Today I have two presents for you. The first one is a powerful message, which comes in the form of a video I watched a few months ago. The speaker is Mark Bittman – chef, author and TV personality.
Mr. Bittman so perfectly explains my reasons for pursuing holistic nutrition as a career, I just had to share it! I literally feel the burn in my belly when I watch this video. My goal is to help you take back the health of you and your family; to provide you with information to make your own food choices! Take the twenty minutes to watch the video. It will change your life, and might even save it!
The second goodie is a salad dressing recipe I created earlier this week. Allow me to introduce Red Wine Dijon Vinaigrette.
It’s light and tangy, with a little baby ninja kick to keep things lively! I use this dressing on salads, as a sauce for my salmon, and drizzle it over roasted veggies. It takes 5 minutes and is infinitely better for you than store bought dressing. Impress your loved ones with your wicked kitchen skills. Make it tonight and someone else will do the dishes. Damn right they will!
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/8 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 TBSP Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp minced garlic or 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Add all ingredients to a mason jar with lid. Shake until mixed. Alternately, mix all ingredients with a fork.
Keeps for one week in fridge.
Adjust ingredients as desired.
Use as a salad dressing, marinade, or drizzle over fish or roasted vegetables. The possibilities are endless!
